On July 4th, 2016, Style Lush TV, San Antonio’s online fashion network, turned two years old. Throughout this time, Style Lush TV has always ended the workday by reflecting on how we served our fashion community and the “City on the Rise” mission. We always strive to bring consistent awareness about the positive people and accomplishments of our San Antonio Fashion Community. Today, Style Lush TV is now not only backed by the City of San Antonio and its Department for Culture and Creative Development, but it is also on television and airs every Sunday, at 6pm on PA-TV available on Time Warner – Channel 20, Grande Cable – Channel 19 and AT&T U Verse – Channel 99.

Last year, as a direct response to all of our local fashion community coverage, Style Lush TV made history for the city of San Antonio and pioneered the San Antonio Fashion Awards. Molded after the Oscars in Hollywood, California, The San Antonio Fashion Awards took place at the Tobin Center and announced the winners of the Diamond Award of Excellence in each category: Local Retailer of the Year, Make Up Innovator of the Year, Hair Innovator of the Year, Magazine Layout of the Year, Fashion Blogger of the Year, Best Fashion Event of the Year, Model of the Year, Fashion Stylist of the Year, Fashion-Artist of the Year, Best Menswear Designer and Best Womanswear Designer. This year, as a direct response to its community, the categories have been expanded to include: Fashion Photographer of the Year and Streetwear Designer or Brand of the Year. It is also set to launch a very special FGI Award of Excellence presented by FGI San Antonio.

The San Antonio Fashion Awards season consists of three phases, Nominations, Voting and the Ceremony. The first phase, Community Choice Nomination Phase, has officially launched and will determine who the public thinks should take the coveted fourth slot in each category on the voting ballot. Community Choice nominations began July 15th and will be open to the public until August 12th at SanAntonioFashionawards.com.

The second phase is voting. There will be a total of 4 nominees on the voting list including the Community Choice Nominees and the community will again voice their opinions at SanAntonioFashionAwards.Com. Come October 13th, the winners will be announced on stage at the most glamorous red carpet ceremony on San Antonio’s yearly calendar.

Last year, the San Antonio Fashion Awards nominees and winners saw a tremendous spike in gaining more clients, sales and credibility during and after the season. In the eyes of their highly sought after clients, customers and professional opportunities, the nominees and winners experienced increased value for their time, more prestigious career opportunities, ability to charge what they are worth, increased sales and growth in clientele. This proves that the San Antonio Fashion Awards help to serve the welfare of our growing fashion industry and in turn the entire economy in San Antonio as a whole.
