Melissa Burnett

Melissa currently serves as a Design Experience Architect for the Talent Delivery team at USAA. In this role, she assists in building a better onboarding experience to attract and retain design talent for the Chief Design Office.

Melissa has more than 20 years of experience in group ideation, creative direction, strategy development, competitor research and evaluation, and design-thinking processes. She also has expertise in planning and coordinating meetings and events from concept to completion.

During her tenure as president of the American Advertising Federation-San Antonio, Melissa led efforts to reorganize chapter processes, which resulted in a national award for club operations. She has also won multiple ADDY Awards, including a Best in Show.

In addition to serving on the board of SA2020, Melissa also serves as a key volunteer for San Antonio Sports. A graduate of Leadership San Antonio (LSA) Class 38, she serves as a member of the LSA Alumni Committee.

Melissa attended the University of Hawaii, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design. She currently lives in San Antonio. Engage her in a Game of Thrones or Walking Dead discussion and be prepared to talk for hours. You have been warned.
