Getting Back into the Swing of Things
By Lyndsey Johnson, SA2020 Resolutions Walker Leader (follow her here!)
Hello blogosphere. It’s been a while. Don’t worry. It’s not you. It’s me. Sooo much has happened that it’s difficult to find where to begin.
1) The San Antonio Business Journal moved to Pearl! In June, SABJ got a cool new hip office space that fit with the new look of the paper. And I thought moving as an individual was difficult. Try moving a whole office space!
2) I got a new job! I am now a Residential Life Coordinator (RLC) for Trinity University, my alma mater. I basically make sure students stay safe, out of trouble, and in a heap full of fun. It was a difficult decision to leave my SABJ family, but working in student affairs is something that I’ve always wanted to do, so I had to follow my dream.
3) We had to move! As an RLC, I have to live on-campus, which is pretty nice. I get to WALK to work and see the students in the dorms every day. But here we are again back at moving. Talk about exhausting. Dave and I had to move across town and in a short amount of time, but we’re all settled now!
Hopefully you can empathize with me for having to deal with all of the insurance-changing, internet-swapping mayhem and forgive my short absence from the interwebz.
Now, back to walking. Recently SA2020 released their most current progress report, and sadly, walkability is not doing too hot. Maybe because it is so dang hot. Needless to say, I was not thrilled with that result, but I am motivated to keep pushing walkability in our neighborhoods.
SO WHAT CAN WE DO?
