We’re Welcoming Four New Board Members!

By SA2020 | Aug 22 2019

As we move into the ninth year since our community developed a shared vision for thriving San Antonio, SA2020 has doubled down on our commitment to driving progress toward that vision. This includes bringing on new members of our team. The newest members of the SA2020 Board of Directors bring experience and energy to our already fantastic board, which now includes attorneys, a small business owner, education and health leaders, and corporate professionals. Our Board helps guide SA2020’s strategy—especially as we approach 2020 and go beyond. (Because, in case you haven’t heard, we’re not going anywhere. And we cannot wait to unveil our Community Engagement Strategy to reaffirm and strengthen our shared vision.)

Get to know our new board members below, and reacquaint yourselves with the older more tenured board members here.

MICHELE AUTENRIETH BROWN, KIPP TEXAS PUBLIC SCHOOLS

As the Deputy Chief of Marketing and Communications for KIPP Texas Public Schools, Michele understands the importance of wraparound services for educational attainment. In fact, in her work she has put a serious emphasis on ensuring every child has the opportunity for a quality education no matter their zip code. We would get in trouble if we didn’t mention that she was in Leadership San Antonio Class 32, “#BestClassEver.”

JAIME CASTILLO, SAWS

Jaime began his love affair with SA2020 as former-Mayor Julián Castro’s Communications Director, helping create and launch the original Community Visioning process as part of the Mayor’s team. Since then, he has led a public affairs team in D.C. as Assistant Secretary of Public Affairs for the Department of Housing and Urban Development and currently is the Chief Strategy Officer/Chief of Staff for SAWS. Jaime believes that “Healthy, educated San Antonians with access to sustainable modes of transportation are what is going to make this city even better than it already is.”

LOURDES CASTRO RAMIREZ, UNIVERSITY HEALTH SYSTEM FOUNDATION

From CEO & President of San Antonio Housing Authority to Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development to the Mayor’s Housing Policy Task Force to the first-ever president of the University Health System Foundation, Lourdes has made it her mission to serve her community. Lourdes emphasizes the adoption of a share Community Vision and the intentional involvement and focus of our community to help prepare us for our future.

ALYSON RAMOS MILLER, CHAD MILLER AUTO CARE

In 2014, Aly and her husband, Chad, opened Chad Miller Auto Care with a simple motto: if the community is going to support us, we will support them. Then, they built that into their very business model. They’ve been supporting SA2020 ever since. “I am ready to bring energy and enthusiasm to the projects I work on and would love to share with businesses of all size how to build community impact into their missions. I am so thrilled to be a part of an organization dedicated to make our city the best it can be,” Aly said.
