May 2013 Increase the “Walkability Score”

According to, the walkability score for San Antonio decreased from 2010 to 2011. Walkscore’s current configuration is problematic because it disregards the physical characteristics of an area, so alternative indicators are currently being analyzed for future use. The seven neighborhoods that were determined “very walkable” in 2011 were: 1) Downtown, 2) Five Points, 3) Tobin Hill, 4) Lavaca, 5) King William, 6) Monte Vista, and 7) Rolling Ridge Club.
